muslims against terrorism

Muslims against Terrorism
"By God, he is not a true believer, from whose mischief his neighbors do not feel secure."Prophet Mohammed (Bukhari, Muslim)
"Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds."From the last sermon of Prophet Mohammed
Whoever does good equal to the weight of an atom shall see it...
...and whoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom shall see it. (Quran 99:7-8)
Do not treat Muslims as terrorists" was the fervent plea made by Muslim clerics at the conference organised at Parliament House library by Ulemas from different parts of the country. Maulana Abdul Hafeez, Rector, Jamia Ashrafia; Maulana Asrarul Haq Qasmi; Maulana Sayed Aqil Ahmad Qasmi; Maulana Fuzailur Rehman Hilal Usmani and Maulana Matinul Haque Osama argued that "jihad" and "terrorism" had been wrongly linked to Muslim community. "A terrorist is a terrorist who has no religion and each and every act of terrorism needs to be condemned in strongest possible terms,'' they said. Referring to the misinformation campaign that mosques and `madrassas' were becoming centres of terrorist activity, they said that mediapersons should visit mosques and seminaries and see for themselves the activities being carried out there. Defining terrorism

The UN has been striving for decades to find a wording for terrorism which, instead of "all its forms and manifestations", narrows down to a specific profile of violence which can be condemned regardless of the circumstances. It blocks the possibility of referring terrorist acts to an international court, as for genocide and other war crimes; it leaves individual countries free to outlaw activity which they choose to classify as terrorism, perhaps for their own political convenience; and crucially it enabled the Bush administration to conjure in the public mind parallels between the 9/11 destruction of the World Trade Center and the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein. The vocabulary of terrorism has become the successor to that of anarchy and communism as the catch-all label of opprobrium, exploited accordingly by media and politicians.
However my personal definition of terrorism would be, Terrorism is the cruelest of crimes; it feeds off the personal suffering by luring governments into actions that abandon hard-earned freedoms of modern civilization. Gargantuan budgets committed to security mock the lives lost in poor countries to preventable disease and hunger. The dark complexity of suicide attacks has exposed inadequacies of security forces, moral philosophers, psychologists and theologians alike. Failing to take advantage of the universal revulsion at the events of September 2001, the "war on terror" has instead magnified the global threat of terrorism.

WAKE UP-2

Nostradamus predicted a great grand war between two religions and one religion will be wiped off. The terrorism what we are facing today throughout the globe is the beginning of that imminent war. We the educated should not allow terrorism to spread. It is not a particular community to be blamed. It is a systemic defect globally. We should convene a round table in which states man and terrorist should be given equal chance to talk. The Nexalites in INDIA is also a form of terrorism. All terrorism should be tackled with utmost tact. Show them the calamity they perpetuated. The suffering of their own community men and general public. Children who lost parents, women who lost husbands, men who lost their family members. Father and mother who lost their children.
Terrorism has reached a level where demarcation is very vague. It is not curtailed to one particular religion or region. It can be seen from the recent global occurrences as it is molded according to the various ends that some people want to achieve. In India, in many parts of the state the reasons vary from shielding one's religion to discrimination according to the caste system, forceful conversion to a particular religion and more recently, warding off people from different region(s). The recent Mumbai attack was an eye-opener for everyone and gave us an idea of how serious it could get. But the most disturbing factor in this whole scenario is that it is the youth that is brain-washed to do such heinous acts of violence. It does not matter whether such actions are capable of grabbing media's attention or not and it is not about how many people are affected by such crimes, the group feel their 'mission' to be accomplished when they sense the fear among the people. The government at best can strengthen its Anti-terror laws or enforce more laws related to it but it is the people who must make a difference by their attitude towards it.

silence of muslims

Pakistan is under terrorist attacks from past few years. Pakistan is being targeted by foreign agencies to portray a negative image in front of the world. Similar is the case with other Islamic countries. If we Muslims are terrorists as the western media portrays us then what do we call Americans? How do they justify their attacks on Iraq and Afghanistan? Is it really war on terror??? Whatever they do is justified because they are super powers?? What Israel; did to Palestine is it justified? When why the Muslims are held responsible for all the terror attacks done worldwide? This is all to dampen the image of Islam and Muslims in front of the whole world. This clearly shows how everyone is trying to victimize the Muslims by labeling them as terrorists! But the worst part which is truly heart pinching and sad is that the Muslims all around the globe are silent spectators of what is happening and doing nothing to prove themselves right and to protect the image of Islam.
Why was Hugo Chavez the president of Venezuela the only one who took action against the Israelis when the attacked Palestine? Why didn’t any Islamic country president or king stood up? Why are Muslims the silent spectators? Why we are not united? Theses few questions really bother me being a Muslim then why don’t others think about it?
We should stand up and protest and prove ourselves as loving and peaceful people who follow a peace loving religion. We Muslims should try to portray the soft image of Islam. And this is the time for Muslims to unite and fight back. This is not the time to remain silent because dead bodies only have vultures in their destiny not hawks! We Muslims have a remarkable history of silence! We remain silent as dead bodies!

Wake UP

30th-March’09-11:30am, I woke up to the sound of my servant dusting my room, it took me twenty minutes to get out of the bed and another half an hour to get ready and dressed for the long day ahead. I went down stairs and found breakfast waiting for me on the table, as I took my first sip from the glass of water I turned on the TV which was already set on a news channel. Just by hearing the first few words coming out of news casters mouth I realized another massacre had occurred in Pakistan.
There was an attack by 8 terrorists on the police academy located near batanagar in Lahore. The attack started at 7:30 am in the morning when the terrorists threw their first grenade on the parading academy students from outside the boundary of the academy, they then entered the premises and opened fire and eventually camped inside and on the roofs of the academy building.
The last news that I heard before leaving my house was that, about 70 people had died and only 2 terrorists were caught until now and the rest had no intentions of giving up.
After leaving the safety of my house I had a feeling of uncertainty, if I was safe or not, if someone was just going to come and blow next to me or if my university was the next target for savages like these. If we look at it we aren’t even fulfilling the first to steps of Maslow’s pyramid of needs, physiological and security, so how in the hell is this country going to survive, it won’t i guess if such ruthless events keep on destroying the base of our country, ( GOD forbid).
I’m probably not going to be as patriotic as I am right now in a few hours so I might as well say it now, “ It’s high time we realized that our country is headed towards an inevitable doom unless and until we wake up from our self centered and selfish lives, its people like us who need to come back to their senses and get a hold of the situation as we have been fortunate enough to have the gift of EDUCATION, we need to revive QUAID'S moto of FAITH, UNITY AND DISIPLINE now or trust me its good bye to the good old days when non-muslims killed muslims and not the muslims themselves…..GOD bless our country”.
